Sam Aiston, Headteacher at Bowbrook Primary School in Shrewsbury, shares his experience of working with our Trust to build a brand new school which opened in 2023.
“As we’ve written the first chapter of our story as Bowbrook Primary School, we couldn’t have asked for better support from our Trust.
“From day one it has been a partnership, with Trust colleagues working alongside our team every step of the way.
“Through plenty of encouragement, challenge and shared problem-solving, strong relationships have been built that have helped us grow a community and have a huge positive impact on our little ones.
“We know we have fantastic support for the exciting journey still ahead.”

Bowbrook Primary – Shrewsbury’s newest school
Bowbrook is Shrewsbury’s newest school, which opened in September 2023 following a successful bid from The 3-18 Education Trust to develop a new school to meet growing local demand. The school achieved ‘strong standard’ across all areas in its first Ofsted inspection in summer 2026.
A ‘school of opportunity’ Bowbrook is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including a multi-use games area, dance studio, science lab and DT lab, as well as extensive surrounding fields.
Bowbrook’s children are provided with a toolkit for life in the modern world with extensive opportunities, inside and outside the classroom, as they take their first steps into building successful futures.
Children are encouraged to be ambitious, embrace opportunities and push themselves out of their comfort zone, reflected in the school’s ethos ‘feel the fear and do it anyway!’
