Lakelands Academy is a school at the heart of its community.

Our aim is to provide an outstanding educational experience for all our young people and to ensure they are prepared for further education and the world of work.

We genuinely believe in every one of them and set the highest of standards with aspirational targets.

We are determined to deliver excellence in all we do, challenging and inspiring every student to achieve, and to do this with a smile on their face.

We believe that education is much more than academic results; it is about embedding behaviour that is safe, smart, responsible and kind in order that our young people develop into well rounded, confident individuals who are driven to make a positive contribution to society.

We offer outstanding facilities that encourage and support ‘Lakelanders’ to achieve this. Having benefited from £4m of investment over recent years, we are able to provide learning and pastoral environments fit for the future, enabling our students to reap the benefits of enhanced provision in most curriculum areas as well as facilitating the support which complements their learning.

Of course, schooldays should be about building memories as well as building successful futures, and we are driven to ensure that our students create some of the very best during their time with us. From yearly events such as rewards trips, the annual school production and Year 11 Prom, to the variety of sporting opportunities and curriculum-based trips that we offer on a regular basis, we understand how much young people gain from exploring the world beyond themselves.

Lakelands Academy joined The 3-18 Education Trust in June 2026.
