Headteacher Mark Hignett spoke to the Shropshire Star about Lakelands Academy – a school at the heart of the Ellesmere community for generations.

Mark said: “We genuinely believe in every one of our children and set the highest of standards with aspirational targets. We challenge and inspire our students to achieve – and to do it with a smile.”

He added: “Education is much more than academic results. It’s about developing safe, smart, responsible and kind young people who make a positive contribution to society.”

Lakelands Academy became the eleventh school to join The 3-18 Education Trust in June 2026.
