William Brookes School

About William Brookes School

William Brookes School joined The 3-18 Education Trust in April 2021.

William Brookes School is a place where students tell us they feel safe and nurtured and have access to extraordinary educational resources. The school’s backdrop is the breath-takingly beautiful Shropshire countryside, and whilst a proportion of our students live in the market town of Much Wenlock, we also serve a uniquely wide catchment area from rural hamlets to the large town of Telford.

We are honoured to be the only Coubertin school in Great Britain and we embrace the rich history of Olympian traditions. Our school values are focused around the Olympic values of respect, excellence and friendship. These are values that our children experience from one another and from staff – these values run through the veins of the school.

As a school, our purpose is to educate. Education is the key to successful futures and provides choices and opportunities for our students. The classroom should be a place of focus and learning, where the magic happens. That said, our school also provides exceptional extra-curricular, enrichment opportunities for our students. An extraordinary number of trips abroad and a wide range of clubs, allow students to flourish in and outside of the classroom.

FantasticHigh 5 Netball Stars!

What a tournament! Our High 5 Netball teams showed amazing teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship at the recent William Brookes event.

They played their hearts out, improving their passing, movement and communication with every match. Both teams faced strong competition and did us proud.

Huge thanks to William Brookes School for hosting and championing mixed-gender netball - breaking down stereotypes and showing that teamwork and skill have no gender.

And a big thank you to Mrs Furber for all the practice and support of our fantastic netballers!
