Bowbrook Primary School achieves ‘strong standard’ across all areas of first Ofsted inspection

The 3-18 Education Trust is pleased to announce that Bowbrook Primary School has achieved ‘strong standard’ across all areas in its first Ofsted inspection.

In the school’s first Ofsted report since opening to pupils in 2023, Bowbrook is described as “an ambitious school where positive relationships and high expectations shape daily life”.

The school’s leaders are praised for creating “a deeply inclusive culture where every pupil is valued and supported to achieve well.” Parents and carers are highlighted as highly supportive of the school, which is “the hub of the community.”

Bowbrook is Shrewsbury’s newest school, which opened in September 2023 following a successful bid from The 3-18 Education Trust to develop a new school to meet growing local demand.

“A reflection of the ambition, care and passion [of] the Bowbrook team”

Claire Jones, Deputy CEO at the Trust, led on the bid and has seen it through to this successful transition into a thriving primary school under the strong leadership of the headteacher, Sam Aiston.

David O’Toole, CEO at The 3-18 Education Trust, said:

“I am enormously proud of everyone at Bowbrook Primary School for what has been achieved in the recent Ofsted inspection, which confirmed strong practice across every area. This is a fantastic reflection of the ambition, care and passion that the Bowbrook team bring to school life every day.

“It has been a privilege for our Trust to see Bowbrook grow from the earliest plans for a new school into such a valued part of its local community. This outcome is an important milestone in that journey, and I look forward to seeing the school continue to go from strength to strength. On behalf of our Trust, thank you to every member of the Bowbrook team for the difference you make to children and families every day.”

This is a positive start to an already celebratory new school year as 2026 marks ten years of The 3-18 Education Trust, from two founding schools in 2016 to a growing Shropshire-wide community of schools today. Throughout the year, the Trust will be recognising ten years of collaboration, growth and shared ambition.
