Celebrating an outstanding year of A-level success

Congratulations are in order at Thomas Adams Sixth Form today as students and staff celebrate another year of outstanding A-Level results.

With 95% of their students securing the required grades for them to successfully access their next steps and over 85% achieving their first-choice destination, staff at the school are “exceptionally proud”.’

Headteacher, Mark Cooper

Headteacher Mark Cooper expressed his pride, saying: “We couldn’t be happier, these accomplishments truly reflect the dedication and effort shown by both our staff and students during their time at Thomas Adams Sixth Form. I wholeheartedly congratulate our students and wish them every success as they pursue their next steps.”

Liam Allen, Assistant Headteacher responsible for Sixth Form added: “I am really proud of our students, whose hard work and determination have resulted in wonderful personal achievements, we wish them all the very best in what will be a bright future and look forward to hearing of their successes.”

Today, I am very proud of what our young people have achieved, and of our staff and parents who have offered a wide range of support along the way. A selection of notable results from this year

  • Amy Brough achieved an outstanding 5 A*s in French, Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Chemistry and will be heading to the University of Warwick to study Integrated Natural Sciences.
  • Melissa Mason earned 3 A*s in History, English Literature and Law, showcasing her academic excellence.
  • Cerys Greaves achieved 2 A*s in Business and Maths and 2 A grades in Further Maths and Physics and will be studying Engineering at the University of Warwick.
  • Chloe Lewis secured 2 A*s in Biology and Chemistry and an A in Maths and is set to study Biochemistry at University College London (UCL).
  • Elliot Long achieved A* in Maths, A’s in Physics and Further Maths and B in Computer Science and will be studying Astrophysics at the University of Warwick.
  • Molly Day earned 3 A’s in History, English Combined and Psychology, she is heading to the University of Glasgow to study Psychology.
  • Rosie Allen achieved A* in History alongside 2 B’s in English Language and Literature will; heading to the University of Sheffield to study Law.
  • Luke Morris secured A* in Graphics, A in Film Studies and a C in Computer Science; progressing to Bournemouth University to study Animation and Visual Effects.
  • Imogen Berry achieved 3 A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Law; heading to King’s College to study Law.

 

Thomas Adams students will go on to study a diverse range of subjects including biology, radiography, theology and religion, architecture, film, and business management at prestigious institutions such as Durham, St Andrews, UCL, York, Manchester, Bristol, Keele, Bangor, Leeds and Warwick.

In addition, several students have secured competitive apprenticeships with leading employers including Jaguar Land Rover, National Rail and BMW.

The 3-18 Education Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) of primary and secondary schools across Shropshire, with a community of over 5,000 students.
