About 3-18 Inspiring Futures - Train to Teach
3-18 Inspiring Futures is a Lead School Initial Teacher Training Provider. The Train to Teach team are proud to have been training teachers with The Priory as our Lead School since 2013 as Salop Teaching Partnership. In September 2025, our programme was re-launched as part of the wider 3-18 Education Trust Learning and Development package.
We are a Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin based partnership working with secondary schools, academies, independent schools and further education establishments across the county. Our location enables us to partner with a unique mix of schools ensuring that our trainees experience teaching in a variety of contexts.
We firmly believe that that partnership and collaboration between practicing teachers and professionals in different schools is the best way to continually develop and improve teaching and learning for the benefit of students, parents and the communities in which we work.
Our secondary teacher training programme is delivered in partnership with University of Chester who share our passion for collaborative working. The University have a long standing history of partnership, working with schools and alliances across Merseyside, Halton, Cheshire, Shropshire and Wales.
Our Secondary PGCE Programme is called School Led Route, which was previously known as ‘School Direct’
The Priory School was awarded Teaching School Hub status in 2021 which led to the development of the Shropshire and Telford Education Partnership (STEP). STEP is an inclusive partnership of schools working collaboratively to deliver Initial Teacher Training (ITT), Appropriate Body Services (AB), Early Career Teacher Entitlement (ECTE) and National Professional Qualification (NPQ) services across the county.
The Priory School is proudly part of The 3-18 Education Trust. A full list of policies can be viewed here

Following a well‑deserved half‑term break, our Associate Teachers (Trainees) have been back in action, taking part in the final Intensive Training and Practice (ITaP) element of their course 👏
This ITaP focused on assessment and questioning – a vital part of effective classroom practice. Through purposeful questioning, teachers can check pupils’ prior knowledge, uncover misconceptions, and identify gaps in understanding, helping them adapt teaching to best support learning.
It’s been fantastic to see our trainees developing these essential skills as they prepare for the next stage of their teaching journey 🌟

🌟 This week, our Associate Teachers (Trainees) have been exploring Post‑16 education! 🌟
They’ve spent time speaking with colleagues across their placement schools to discover the fantastic activities that take place to help pupils make informed choices about their future pathways.
To deepen their understanding even further, they also visited Shrewsbury College, gaining first‑hand insight into Post‑16 teaching within their specialist subjects. A brilliant opportunity to see how young people continue their learning journey beyond secondary school!
👏📚
Special thanks to our colleagues at Shrewsbury College for supporting our programme 🌟
