90% of Year 13 students at Thomas Adams Sixth Form have today achieved the required grades for them to successfully access their next steps, including over 85% achieving their first choice destination.
Staff are exceptionally proud of their Year 13 students, who have shown themselves to be committed, motivated and tenacious throughout their time at Thomas Adams.
Headteacher, Mark Cooper, expressed his pride, saying: “We couldn’t be happier, these accomplishments truly reflect the dedication and effort shown by both our staff and students during their time at Thomas Adams Sixth Form. I wholeheartedly congratulate our students and wish them every success as they pursue their next steps.”
Liam Allen, Assistant Headteacher responsible for Sixth Form, added: “I am really proud of our students, whose hard work and determination have resulted in wonderful personal achievements, we wish them all the very best in what will be a bright future and look forward to hearing of their successes, they have been a wonderful cohort.”
A selection of notable results from this year
- Freddie Nixon achieved an A* in Politics, an A in Religious Education and an A in Graphics. He will be continuing his studies in Media Studies at the University of Brighton.
- Lucy Arrowsmith achieved an outstanding A* in Geography, an A in Psychology and a B in Mathematics. She will be progressing to Liverpool John Moores University to study Psychology.
- Caitlin Jones achieved an impressive A* in English Literature, an A in Film Studies and a B in Sociology. She will go on to study English and Film Studies at the University of St Andrews.
- Katie Green achieved A grades in History and Sociology, alongside a B in Law. She will be going on to study Law at the University of Chester.
- Becca Myers earned a B in Chemistry, an A in Psychology and an A in Geography. She will be heading to the University of Leeds to study Geography.
- James Wright secured A grades in Biology and Chemistry, alongside B grades in Mathematics and Physics. He is set to continue his studies in Physics at Lancaster University.
- Amy Burgess achieved Distinction* (A*) in Food and Nutrition, Distinction (A) in Health and Social Care and a Grade A in Psychology. Amy will go on to complete a Food Industry Technical professional degree apprenticeship at Harper Adams.
Students will go on to study a diverse range of subjects including biology, physics, psychology, theology and religion, film, and business management at prestigious institutions such as the British and Irish Modern Music Institute, St Andrews, Lancaster, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Keele, Bangor, Leeds and Warwick.
In addition, several students have secured competitive apprenticeships with leading employers.

- Ted Lawrence leaves to join the Aviation industry to train as a pilot.
