Each school will annually self-evaluate against the nine Ofsted areas and use this evaluation to create their School Development Plan, which should be reviewed each term and discussed with line managers. Every school will have a KPI document with live data on standards, behaviour, attendance, and SEND.
The Trust’s School Improvement Team provides support based on each school’s categorisation. Every half term, Educational Review Meetings will consider:
· School on a Page report
· Quality Assurance Reviews
· Evidence from termly Executive Reviews
· Other soft intelligence (e.g., parent/staff surveys; safeguarding reports)
Support will be evaluated and modified during half-termly Educational Review Meetings, and each term the categorisation of a school will be determined, following each school’s Executive Reviews, according to the following diagram:
Schools classified as “secure” or “strong” will receive an annual Quality Assurance visit from the Trust, while those classified as “attention needed” or “causing concern” will receive termly visits. Schools categorized as “attention needed” due to weaknesses in specific areas will have termly reviews focusing on improving those particular areas. Schools rated green or blue can request additional trust or external reviews if desired.
Where practice is reviewed as secure/strong, there is an expectation that this exemplary practice is shared far and wide (at Trust level and beyond).
Where a school joins the Trust mid-year, a full review will be undertaken to determine the nature and level of support moving forwards.
