Each school has its own training and CPD priorities aligned with the School Development Plan for the year. Every staff member is required to complete core staff training and mandatory training via National College. Teaching staff with additional responsibilities are expected to undertake role-specific training (e.g. Leadership training). Staff are required to stay updated with research and extend their learning beyond formal training sessions. Support will be provided to help staff develop and implement best practices.
The Trust organises an annual conference with varied themes each year. All staff, including support staff, are invited to participate in the conference, which features a variety of workshops based on shared priorities. The conference also allows staff the opportunity to network across schools.
Training for all teachers is provided by the Trust in accordance with whole Trust priorities. It is conducted either by Trust Consultants, members of the Executive Team, or external facilitators approved by the Executive Team. The School Improvement Team centrally organises training focused on whole Trust priorities. Additionally, the Trust offers online training courses available to staff upon request, covering areas such as leadership, support staff, teaching staff, administrative staff, IT staff, etc.
All staff also have access to the National College CPD platform. National College provides tailored CPD offerings and curated watchlists to meet the training needs of different groups, such as functional areas, TAs, SEND. The Trust uses National College for mandatory training, and compliance is monitored centrally. Trust schools can also access The Key, an online platform offering a range of educational training and resources.
Collaboration is a key priority, with various key network groups bringing staff together across different schools to collaborate, reduce workload, and improve efficiencies. These groups include: SENDCOs, DSLs, attendance leads, assessment leads, Teaching and Learning leads, etc.
