Emma Price

Attendance (Primary)

Emma has held phase, mentoring and subject leadership roles, developing curriculum and pedagogy that empower learners and staff alike. More recently, as Attendance and Behaviour Lead at Much Wenlock Primary School and Nursery, Emma has driven positive change by embedding restorative approaches, strengthening family engagement by relationship building over enforcement, and improving attendance patterns through recognition incentives linked to school values. The impact has been clear: pupils feel more connected to their school community; staff are supported with consistent strategies, and overall behaviour has become more positive and inclusive.

With a foundation as a Meteorology and Oceanography Specialist in the Royal Navy, Emma brings a unique perspective on community, resilience and the importance of belonging – values that continue to shape my work in education. Transitioning into teaching, Emma has gained extensive experience across both primary mainstream and specialist provision, where fostering inclusion and engagement has been central to her practice.

Currently completing a Doctorate in Education, Emma’s research explores how educational spaces actively include or exclude children, with a particular focus on SEND. This research informed approach guides every aspect of Emma’s leadership and classroom practice, ensuring that belonging is not an aspiration but a lived reality for all pupils.

Emma’s journey – from naval specialist to educational professional – reflects a commitment to service, inclusion and transformation. Emma is passionate about continuing to shape environments where every child, regardless of background or need, feels they belong and can thrive.
