Over 570 teachers, support staff and governors from fourteen Shropshire schools came together at Telford International Centre on Monday 3rd November for The 3-18 Education Trust’s annual staff conference.
This year’s conference celebrated the power of belonging and the role each of us play in building a community where everyone feels seen, valued and supported.
Claire Jones, Deputy CEO at The 3-18 Education Trust, said: “This year, our Trust is placing belonging at the heart of everything we do—because feeling part of something special matters. Whether you’re a member of staff, a pupil, a parent, a governor or part of our wider community, your sense of connection and inclusion shapes our shared success.”
Inspiring keynote speakers
The conference opened with an inspiring keynote from Major Scotty Mills, Royal Marines Commando Officer (retired), who shared his compelling story of belonging, leadership and resilience.
As part of the Trust’s digital drive to lead the way in educational technology, the afternoon keynote focused on ‘Exploring the Potential of Generative AI’ delivered by Simon Johnson from Tablet Academy.
Trust staff actively engaged in expert-led CPD workshops offered as part of the day, reinforcing the Trust’s investment in ongoing staff development. From emotion coaching and neurodiversity to parent communications and reading intervention, the programme included a wide range of topics to suit staff in various roles and career stages.
