Trust Structure

Welcome from Your New School

A very warm welcome to The Priory School, Shrewsbury. The Priory School is a unique and vibrant community which epitomises all that can be achieved through a dedicated, and caring staff working tirelessly to encourage an independent and resilient student body. As soon as you enter the building you notice a very special, mutual respect between staff and students. Our size allows us to know every student as an individual but also gives us the flexibility to provide a high-quality learning experience.

Our core values are encapsulated within the school’s message to students to always endeavour to be Selfless, Self-assured and Successful.  In day-to-day interactions in school, we focus on everyone being Ready and Respectful in order to achieve these aims and values. Naturally there is a focus upon the academic to ensure that each individual fulfils their true potential. We are traditional in our expectations of students but we never lose sight of innovation in the classroom. We endeavour to ensure lessons are dynamic, and exciting to capture and captivate young people’s interest and love of learning.  Our wider staff team work tirelessly to ensure the more holistic needs of pupils are met, with our House system forming an integral part of all we do.

As a member of staff at The Priory, you will have a supportive induction programme, in addition to continuous professional development.  This includes access to internal and trust wide support and best practice but also wider qualifications through our Teaching School Hub status, as lead school for Shropshire and Telford Education Partnership.  You will have an identified member of staff who will support you through your initial time with us but please feel free to approach any member of the leadership team if you have any queries or questions.
