Steve Beard

Use of Arbor in secondary schools

Almost thirty years ago, Steve started his teaching career as a Maths and PE teacher and as the youngest member of staff he was given the job of teaching ICT.  Four years later, Steve became head of ICT at Rhyn Park (now St Martins).  He later worked as an ICT Advisor/Consultant for Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin LEAs and more recently he joined William Brookes School, where he is now Assistant Headteacher.  While working for Shropshire and William Brookes School, Steve has managed the Shropshire regional training centre for Apple

Over the last 18 months Steve has developed and expanded the use of Arbor at William Brookes School, including the use of live feeds and more recently the creation of Power Bi dashboards for data analysis.  Each term he is implementing additional features to further enhance the school’s use of Arbor.  In school Steve provides support to both teaching and non-teaching staff and he is currently an Arbor Ambassador, supporting new schools moving over to Arbor.  Steve is really keen to support schools within the trust to get additional value from Arbor and find ways of reducing workload and increasing efficiencies.
