St Martins School students celebrate royal visit with feast hosted by OsNosh

To mark the Duke of Edinburgh’s visit to Shropshire this week, OsNosh—an inspiring community kitchen and café based in Oswestry—hosted a lunchtime feast for fifty volunteers including students from St Martins School.

OsNosh transforms surplus food into delicious, nutritious ‘pay as you feel’ meals, ensuring no good food goes to waste. The celebratory buffet lunch was prepared by OsNosh founder, Ben Wilson. “With help from our incredible volunteers and students, we’ve taken surplus food collected this week and turned it into a global feast fit for a prince!” said Ben.

Prince Edward also joined students from the school in a masterclass, led by Ben, on the art of making food look good on a plate.

St Martins strong partnership with OsNosh

OsNosh has built a strong partnership with St Martins School and the St Martins Unlimited Enterprise team, collaborating on initiatives including cooking masterclasses, educational visits to local organisations, and hands-on experience in their kitchen. This ongoing collaboration continues to inspire and empower students while strengthening community ties.

Hannah Weaver, Assistant Head at St Martins School, spoke about the importance of the school’s collaboration with OsNosh. “Our students had a truly memorable experience meeting His Royal Highness, and I was delighted to support OsNosh during this special visit. The students were a credit to the school, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with OsNosh in the future.”
