The 3-18 Education Trust hosted a workshop last month to bring together the expertise of School Business Managers from across the Trust’s primary and secondary schools.
The half-day session gave colleagues the opportunity to discuss the challenges facing their schools, share best practice and accomplishments, and discuss what makes a great School Business Manager.
“It was great to take time out of our busy schedules to share best practice with the other schools within The 3-18 Education Trust family”, said Tracy Othen, School Business Manager at Bowbrook Primary School and Coleham Primary School. “We reflected on our strategic direction, and how we can improve business operations and the culture of our schools to positively impact pupil, parent and staff experiences.”
A ‘buddying up’ initiative was introduced as part of the workshop. Duncan Wright, Chief Financial Officer at The 3-18 Education Trust, said: “I am positive that we can each learn from spending time in other schools.”
Shelagh Enticknap, School Business Manager at Much Wenlock Primary School, enjoyed meeting others who are doing the same role. “I am looking forward to buddying up with a new school joining the Trust and sharing knowledge and experience with them.”
Cindy Hellyn-Jones, School Business Manager at St Martins 3-16 School in Oswestry, is already looking forward to the next event. “It proved invaluable to connect with like-minded individuals to exchange ideas, find solutions and drive efficiency.”
Staff workshops are just one part of the CPD on offer to staff at The 3-18 Education Trust, find out more at Training and Development – The 3-18 Education Trust.
