The 3-18 Education Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Rachel Howell-James as the new Headteacher of Much Wenlock Primary School and Nursery.

Rachel Howell-James brings over 15 years’ education experience to the role and has worked in community schools throughout her career.
Rachel says: “It is an honour to be selected to lead Much Wenlock Primary School and Nursery. Having worked in community schools throughout my career, I know how vital a school is in shaping not only the future of its pupils, but also the wider community. Since joining the school in September 2023, I have seen the energy and ambition of our pupils, the dedication of our staff, and the strong sense of community that makes this school special. Now, it is time to build on that. Much Wenlock Primary School is more than a place of learning – it is the heart of this community. We have an exciting journey ahead, and I look forward to working with staff, parents, and the wider community to make Much Wenlock the best it can be.”
David O’Toole, CEO at The 3-18 Education Trust, said: “After a highly competitive selection process, Rachel shone as the perfect leader for our school community. Rachel has already proven her exceptional capabilities during her tenure as Acting Headteacher. Her passion for education, unwavering dedication, and genuine commitment to our school’s ethos have been truly inspiring. Rachel will be leading a talented and devoted staff team, and together, we are poised to embrace new opportunities and overcome any challenges with confidence.”
