Children and families from Much Wenlock Primary School have shown their community spirit this week by making a generous donation of food and household items to local charity, Bridgnorth Food Bank.
Each class was challenged to build the highest tower with their harvest donations, with Year 4 and Year 5 crowned the winners and awarded an extra fifteen minutes at break time.
Liz Bird, Food Bank Manager, visited the school to collect the donations and gave a powerful talk about the impact of food donations in the local community. The children learned that the day before the Food Bank was accessed by 125 people, including fifty-six children.
Rachel Howell-James, Deputy Headteacher at Much Wenlock Primary School, said: “The children were so kind, demonstrating beautiful Wenlock listening. They were respectful and showed how much they cared with thoughtful questions and responses.”
