Coleham Primary School’s Christmas video raises money for local food hub

Staff at Coleham Primary School in Shrewsbury have released their fifth annual charity Christmas video this week.

For this year’s video, the school have joined forces with Shrewsbury Food Hub to raise awareness of the outstanding work they do in the local community. Shrewsbury Food Hub save surplus food from 60 supermarkets, farmers and manufacturers every day. This is then distributed to those in need in the local community.

The school’s Christmas video is a highlight of the year for pupils, families and staff alike. The filming takes place in secret throughout December, with the final film premiering to the school community during a special showing.

Tracy Othen, School Business Manager, said: “The video is our gift to the children and community each year and also a great way to have some fun in school. Staff wellbeing is so important and making the video lifts everyone up, and then watching and sharing it gives us another boost. It’s such a wonderful feeling to create something special.”
