CPD and training

Our comprehensive CPD and training offer is strategically aligned with each School Improvement Plan and our Trust-wide priorities. We encourage and enable all teaching and support staff to engage in CPD and training to meet the needs of their current role and future career aspirations. This includes mandatory training, role-specific learning, and professional development. Our comprehensive training offer is delivered by our own Trust Improvement Consultants, our Executive team, or expert external facilitators.

On demand training via The Key

Our staff benefit from Trust-wide membership of The Key, which provides everyone with support and resources relevant to their role. As well as specific content for those in leadership roles or with safeguarding responsibilities, there is also an extensive CPD library and AI-powered assistant, ChatGPT. Our mandatory training is also delivered via The Key.

Termly CPD programmes

Each term, we offer a curated programme of ‘bitesize’ CPD sessions – one-hour online workshops or presentations which are designed to provide a taster of a subject area or enable staff to brush up on their existing knowledge.

Recent sessions include:

  • Maximising Arbor efficiency
  • A guide to Ofsted inspection plans
  • Capturing the student learning journey with Canva
  • Introduction to neurodiversity and support strategies
  • Mastering absence for line managers
  • SEND: The four broad areas of need

Teaching and learning development

Our Trust Improvement Consultants provide specialist teaching and learning advice and support to our schools. This includes training, 1:1 support, face-to-face visits, reviews, observations, and guidance to create action plans.
